Therapy for Men at SoCal Narrative Therapy

At SoCal Narrative Therapy, we work with men individually and in groups who want to live with greater purpose, connection, and integrity in their lives and relationships.
Collectively, our therapists have more than 30 years of experience working with men. We have learned that good therapy with men begins by meeting each person with respect, curiosity, and without assumptions about who they are or how they should be. It also means creating a space that is safe enough for honest conversation—and meaningful enough to invite real change.
Many men come to therapy carrying pressures, expectations, or inherited ideas about masculinity that can narrow their lives: the expectation to handle things alone, to avoid vulnerability, to stay in control, or to measure worth through achievement and success. These pressures can make it harder to sustain intimacy, respond to hardship, ask for support, or live in ways that reflect what matters most.
Our work is not about telling men what kind of person they should become. It is about helping them clarify what they value, recognize the strengths and resources they can draw on, and take steps toward the kind of partner, parent, friend, family member, and person they want to be.
Therapy may include conversations about relationships, parenting, work, pressure to succeed, addiction and substance use, anger, anxiety, identity, isolation, grief, loss, or moments when life has moved away from a person’s hopes. We believe men are capable of engaging difficult questions directly when those questions are approached with care, respect, and a genuine belief in their capacity to shape their own lives.
Individual Therapy for Men
Individual therapy offers a private, collaborative place to make sense of what you are facing and to develop a clearer relationship with your own values, hopes, and intentions. Together, we explore not only the problems that have brought you to therapy, but also what those problems may be trying to pull you away from—and what you want to stand for instead.
Men’s Therapy Groups
Our men’s groups offer an opportunity to speak honestly with other men about the concerns that matter in their lives. Groups are designed to be welcoming, thoughtful, and challenging spaces where participants can reflect on their relationships, choices, and hopes alongside others who are doing the same.
We welcome men of all sexual orientations, cultural backgrounds, and life experiences. Whether you are seeking individual therapy or a group experience, we would be glad to talk with you about what support might be most helpful
